AI Agent Mode: Your Whole Chatbot as an Agent
Samuel Su
on October 25, 2026Last week the AI Agent node came to workflows. Now your whole chatbot can work that way. Choose AI Agent in Settings → Model, and every message is answered by an agent that works through the request on its own.
What changes
- It chains your tools. It takes what one tool returns and uses it for the next, like finding a booking and then moving it, in whatever order the request needs.
- It checks your knowledge base on every message, and searches again in its own words when it needs more.
- It remembers the conversation, so visitors don't repeat themselves.
- No workflow to build and no model to pick. Describe the goal and the rules in your base prompt; the agent works out the steps.
- Up to 100 tools, on every plan, including your MCP apps and live chat hand-off.
Everywhere your chatbot answers
Agent mode answers on your website, the chat API and every messaging integration. Realtime voice and phone calls are unchanged.
See every step
Each reply's Debug button opens a plain step-by-step summary of what the agent did and what each step cost. Costs follow what each reply actually uses. You can set a soft spending cap per reply and manage your chatbot's total spend.
Get started
Connect at least two MCP tools in AI Actions, then open Settings → Model, choose AI Agent, and save. If you saved tools disabled, return to AI Actions and enable the ones you want the agent to use. Your workflows stay saved and work again whenever you switch back to Standard.
