Live Chat Updates Without Reloading, Plus Instant Notifications

on July 17, 2026We're excited to make live chat feel truly real time. Until now, agents often had to refresh the Live Chats dashboard to catch new conversations and replies. Starting today, the dashboard keeps itself up to date, and your team gets notified the instant a visitor needs a human, so no request slips through the cracks.
What's New
- Auto-updating Live Chats dashboard. New conversations and incoming visitor messages now appear on their own. Agents can keep the dashboard open and watch chats arrive in real time, without ever hitting refresh.
- In-app notification bell. A new bell in the header lights up when a visitor is waiting to be connected to a human agent — on every page of your agent dashboard, so you notice even while working somewhere else in the app.
- Browser push notifications. Opt in once and you get a desktop notification the moment a visitor requests a live agent, even when the dashboard tab is in the background or minimized. Click the notification to jump straight to your live chat queue.
Why It Matters
- No more manual refreshing. Agents stay focused on helping customers instead of reloading the page to check for new chats.
- Faster response times. Because escalations surface instantly, your team can jump in while the visitor is still engaged.
- Fewer missed conversations. Between the notification bell and browser push, it's much harder for a waiting visitor to go unnoticed.
How to Turn It On
The auto-updating dashboard works automatically, there's nothing to enable. To receive browser push notifications, open the notification bell in the header, click Turn on, and allow notifications when your browser asks. You can turn them back off from the same bell, or manage the permission any time from your browser settings.
Where to Find It
Head to the Live Chats dashboard to see conversations update in real time. Every agent on your team can enable browser push for themselves from the notification bell in the header.
